How to Enter

*** Entries for 2016 are now closed ***

These details are retained for reference only

Entries are made through a dedicated submissions website - see link at foot of this page.

However before starting your entry please check your Eligibility and the Terms and Conditions and then read the following guidance:

Entrants and Nominees

You can nominate yourself, and the majority of entries are expected to be self-nominees.  However it is also perfectly acceptable to make an entry in which you nominate someone else, and the entries website allows for that possibility.

Compile Sample Audio Portfolio

Most of the awards will be judged on the basis of a sample of radio and audio work of up to 15 minutes in total, submitted as a single mp3 file (maximum size 75MB) PLUS a written commendation of up to 600 words which should describe the sample file (including in particular a Running Order) and say why it shows the entry deserves to win.  Only Drama Producers, and candidates for Indie of the Year, may submit up to 30 minutes in their category.

If you wish to have video or audio-video or online work considered by the judges, please put hyper-links to them in your written documentation - do not try to upload video or A-V files as they will be rejected by the submissions website. Keep file names simple - letters, numerals, spaces, hyphens, underscores - and avoid unusual characters, especially additional full-stops.

In previous years judges have noted two recurring faults with audio submissions: (1) trying to squeeze in too many samples, so that each runs for only 10-20 seconds, which is too short to assess quality and conversely (2) submitting a single item - each award is for a body of work over the qualifying year, and should consist of a minimum of three pieces to have a serious chance of winning.

Prepare Supporting Documentation

Each entry should be accompanied by a written running order and commendation as described above (including if relevant links to online work as above).

Choosing which Categories to Enter

Please read the Categories page carefully and ensure you are entering the right one!  You can enter as many categories as you want.

Entry Fees

The cost for each entry is £48+VAT, full price, or £30+VAT for any entrant or nominee who is associated with a RIG member company (ie permanent or contract staff or regular freelance).  This must be paid at the time of entry using PayPal - if you are eligible for the RIG member discount, please take care to select 'RIG member' on the entry form so that you are charged the correct fee.

Go to the Judgify website ...

When you have everything ready, please go to http://www.judgify.me/2016apas to submit your entries.  BUT it may well be a good idea to look at the Illustrated Guide to the Entry Website first!
